Euan fights on the Nigel Benn Dinner Show

Euan Morphew from the Grimsby Warriors GMAA Kickboxing team was put forward to fight on Nigel Benns dinner show at the Lincoln Fight Factory on May 4th 2012. Even though he lost on points he did the club proud especially when he was fighting a potential title winner who had a 8w 0l record before the fight.

Shogun Warrior Team competed at the GFKC Interclub competition on April 28th and did the club proud.

This was their first competition and there were some really good fights, perhaps the 2 that stick out on the day was the 2nd points fight Grace had as well as the Light Continuous fight Shane had which was really a belter. We hope to be entering future competitions with the team and would like to see more shoguns take part. Well done everyone and thanks to John for hosting the show.

Grimsby Warrior Team Lincoln Fight Night 14th April

Some Members of the Grimsby Warrior Kickboxing team went down to the Lincoln Fight Night held at the sports centre North Hykeham. For 3 of the members it was their first fight and to say it was their debut they did very well showing guts just to get in the ring and walk the walk. Madars Bertholds won on points after dishing out some heavy blows to his opponent who took a standing 8 count and came away with a points win. Kallum Sutcliffe took on a heavy opponent for his debut fight and even though took a standing 8 he continued but lost on points. Euan Morphew had a hard fight took some punishment but also giving it out eventually loosing on points. Alex Smith put on a brave effort in his debut fight but eventually lost on points.

Heres to the next fight on 20th May at the NEC followed by the Greatest Show on Earth the Grimsby Martial Arts Academy fight night.

Grimsby Warrior Team going to Worlds

Members of the Grimsby Warrior Kickboxing team recently went down to the BFKKO trials in Sheffield and 8 of them were selected for the GB Squad to take part in the World Combat Competition held in Telford over 3 days in August.

 

London Marathon Challenge 2012

Thanks to everyone who sponsored me, not a very good time but had a knee injury, 4:50:23. Will let you all know how much I raised.

KickBoxercise/Boxercise

Kickboxercise/Boxercise classes are proving very popular, why not give them a try to see why. Afterwards we hold 30 minutes beginners sparring and all level sparring. So if you fancy getting fit and having a go at learning how to fight, male and female, then why not give them both a go. £6.50 for both or inclusive if you have a GMAA voucher.

Shoguns

Wednesday night 6.00 – 6.45 for ages 10-13 or those that have been told to move up from Little Ninjas. Lessons include fitness, sparring, combination and training games. We are also trying to build a sparring team which will represent GMAA.
